My degree is focused on Latin American and California Labor history. This diverse education gives me a unique outlook on both social and ethnic diversity within the state of California and the world at large. Given my extensive experience within the university system, I am familiar with the academic and professional standards expected in University settings. I am a second generation college graduate, having come out of a lower- class background and a volatile home life. My life story exemplifies the power of education and its ability lift people out of poverty and hopelessness.
